Introduction: I'm excited to share my favorite accessories with you in this pattern. These basic bows may lean towards the masculine or the feminine, for the young or the old, because yarn is king and your choice will make the difference. The basic bow tie has been my best seller at local shops and craft shows and it's time for me to share the recipe. I hope you will find the instructions easy to follow & inspiring. Take these bows and use them as a canvas waiting for your touch in the color, texture, size, and styling.

Gauge 6 sts = 1” US 6 Stockinette St worked flat.
Gauge is not particularly important with these ties and any weight of yarn can be used - not to mention how fun using fine yarns can be for making tiny bows! Worsted weight yarns are a great starting point for a basic adult tie. Also, keep in mind that if you want your tie to be nicely shaped you will want a tight knit & wool or acrylic will give you the best results for that. Looser gauge and plant based or alpaca fibers drape. Once you've selected a yarn, all you need a set of corresponding straight needles and a yarn needle.
