it's the dirt

i’d say… like, “it’s the shit” because - it IS dirt AND shit and i don’t care if my whole yard smells like it.  actually, i’d prefer it.

mae and i have the raised bed/cold frame buttoned up with cantaloupe planted ta-boot!  in the end, this entire set up cost me $10 including the price of the plants.  un-freakin’-believable!  mae still wants to paint it and has seriously considered using chalkboard paint on the top so that we can write what’s growing when we’re using it as a cold frame.  the plex will keep the elements away.  she’s a smart one!

my big helper was hot and bored and tired of patting the dirt with her shovel, so she opted for a cool garage and a mound of bubble wrap to keep herself occupied.

mae wanted to grow corn this year so… there you have it.  all her corn is up and saying hello to the warm sun.  she has her own bed next to the small garden for her corn alone and it’s hers to water and tend to.

and as mae would say, i’ve been “yarning” too.

it changed. the most random post.
