day one at the new job! HA! the kids put me through the wringer today… and i’m exhausted! BUT, we did work on our special new project today and i had to share.
when we were at the fabric shop yesterday, the woman cutting our fabric was looking at this black and white one and said, “this just makes me want to color it all in!” DING! i asked for an extra yard and bought fabric markers. the girls have been coloring their fabric as much or as little as they’d like. i’ll press them to heat set the markers, then we’ll make them into little pillows. mae loves the project SO much she wants to share it with her friends at the sitter’s house (she’ll still be going two days a week because she LOVES it and her sitter is like the home school mother she doesn’t have). i figure i’ll pick up a less complex patterned fabric and send it with her. when the kids have finished their pieces i’ll press and stuff them. now that i’m typing that i think i just came up with a WAY cooler idea…. hmmm… later.
and today was our first day grilling. about time, too! i mixed up a mole-type marinade for the chops and hubs grilled them to perfection. yellow rice and homemade fresh salsa sent it over the edge. delicious!
i also made the most scrumptious blueberry smoothie on earth. thank you real simple!!!
in a blender, combine
3 cups ice
1 1/2 cusp blueberries
1 cup lemonade
1/2 cup fresh mint leaves
1/4 cup confectioner sugar
and pure until smooth - garnish with mint sprigs.
