It's October and around here, that means every morning my littlest wakes up and says, "Guess what this month is!" and there are three possible answers: Fall Break, Halloween, or your birthday? However for me, October means waking up and thinking one thing: holiday knitting. We have a drawing in the family so that we're only responsible to gift for one person - which is sort of the best thing ever - unless I draw your name and you do NOT want another wool hat or cowl or shawl or whatever. October also means the trees are slowly shedding leaves and the world around me is sinking into a cold, wet, grey hell. I welcome fall for the great knitting inspiration but I really, really do not like living without sun and therefore will never move to Alaska. I think a warm hug of wool is just what I need to keep me going - and coffee.
So, what I'm saying is, in honor of needing some quick holiday knits AND a wicked slap of gold to remind me that the sun exists behind those thick, gloomy skies, I'm working up the Catena Cabled Hat & Cowl patterns. The patterns will be available as a set and I'm hoping to button it all up for release by the end of next week (let's say the 17th). And speaking of the 17th, I'll be chatting with Ashley from woolful that day too - more info on that to come.
